The successful candidate will be the central source of competitive strategy and knowledge across all competitive offerings in market for the Cloud Infrastructure Management (CIM) and End User Computing (EUC) portfolio of solutions.
And w ill be able to clearly identify, articulate and communicate a compelling value proposition across this portfolio verses the competition in Japan.
This role is tasked with delivering a structured framework of tactical and strategic competitive insights that help the field sales organization win competitive selling opportunities, whilst also delivering these key competitive insights and know ledge to the Japan marketing team.
This individual will be a pivotal stakeholder supporting aggressive expansion plans in Japan, and will be part of the product marketing team.
The candidate will also play a key role in inputting into the competitive product strategy working seamlessly with the CIM and EUC Product Marketing Managers (PMM) as well as the Global Competitive team in the US.
The candidate will be the Japan subject matter expert on competitive solutions for all the product offerings.
There will be a requirement to travel domestically.
- Create and execute an impactful Japan Competitive Intelligence Strategy that aligns to local requirements
- Work with key stakeholders in the global and APJ competitive team to formulate and execute against the competitive go to market plans across Japan.
- Identify, compile and tailor the competitive assets and collateral produced to the needs of the Japanese marketplace.
- Provide regular feedback and updates to the BU’s and competitive team on unique requirements/support for Japan region.
- Develop a field competitive sales capacity by identifying and establishing Japanese ‘competitive champion’ program.
- Provide technical and competitive product sales leadership to accelerate competitive wins for key competitive scenarios
- Deliver a structured framework of tactical and strategic competitive insights that help the field sales organization win competitive selling opportunities
- Work closely with the local product marketing team, APJ Competitive lead and broader marketing organization to help distill the product value proposition core competitors
- Conduct regular Japan compete calls, blogs and communications that capture our differentiation and reinforce with competitive win stories and examples across Japan
- Gather, process and deliver competitive strategy briefings to senior leadership team across Japan and back into Geo BU as required.
- Quickly access and communicate competitive know ledge from the field and cascade to core stakeholders
- Support the delivery of compete training for the sales force and channel to better articulate the value
- Provide feedback to APJ product marketing for new products features required for success in Japan
- Create, review and localise competitive assets documents and presentations via product marketing.
- Act as a competitive subject matter expert to internal partners.
- Help the field with key competitive differentiation information to properly respond to key RFPs/RFIs.

They will be a key part of the APJ Product Marketing Team and support the delivery of a structured framew ork of tactical and strategic competitive insights that help the field sales organization win competitive selling opportunities.
This candidate will be the subject matter expert across competitive solutions and our competitive strategy across Japan.
Role Specific Experience and Skills
- Significant experience with the Cloud Infrastructure and Management (CIM) as w ell as End User Computing (EUC) fields of technology, preferably w ith a background based in product marketing or sales engineer is desirable
- Solid competitive know ledge of primarily Cloud Infrastructure and Management technologies, but also EUC
- An ability to quickly understand and compare competitive offerings and position clear competitive differentiation and value propositions
- An understanding of netw orking technologies and operating systems
- Know ledge and skills in providing applications support, making technical or sales presentations to C level executives, customers and partners at industry events.
- Know ledge and experience of CIM and EUC technology channels.
- Strong influencing and negotiating skills across different stakeholders across Japan
- Ideally possess firsthand experience w ith a primary competitor of are Education
- Qualification to degree level in marketing, business or computer science with post graduate studies desirable
