is looking for Senior Manager, Japan Localization Operations, to join its growing Corporate Globalization Team in office in Tokyo, Japan. The Corporate Globalization team evangelizes the globalization initiative throughout the company, working across global and field marketing, field enablement, education, product marketing, R＆D, IT, and Support to deliver globalized programs and marketing assets. As a global organization, based in Palo Alto, Europe, Asia, and Latin America, we work directly with our international stakeholders as well as global and in－country localization vendors. We maintain a core competency in localization tools and processes and consult across the company to develop globalized end－user facing portals and IT systems to support our customers and partners.
The Manager, Japan Localization Operations, will be responsible for managing a team of senior localization project managers, coordinators, quality leads, localization and review vendors, and contract review resources in Japan to execute localization programs to support our international website, sales and marketing programs and assets, e－learning and partner enablement assets, and customer facing portals. The selected candidate will be responsible for all localization personnel in Japan and for managing interactions with Globalization’s business stakeholders in Japan. Working together with Senior Manager, APJ Localization Operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for formulating and executing the short, medium, and long term localization strategy, developing and implementing localization processes and ensuring overall success of localization as a program in Japan.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing localization teams and projects in a corporate environment, advanced people management and communication skills, extensive experience in planning, developing, implementing and streamlining localization production processes, and significant experience in implementing localization tools and systems.
－Team management: Manage a team of senior localization staff, employing corporate best practices in human resources management. Motivate, lead, and inspire the team to meet the global, regional and local goals. Coach, mentor and develop the team members.
－Production management: Plan and successfully execute quarterly localization roadmaps, schedules and budgets.
－Local stakeholder interactions: Work closely with the key business stakeholders in Japan – marketing managers, sales and services teams, corporate marketing and program management – to identify and prioritize programs for localization and to ensure that overall programs are successfully executed.
－Vendor resource management: Pro－actively manage local vendor capacity to ensure availability of highly skilled production resources. Establish, track and analyze production, quality and financial metrics.
－Localization process development and implementation: Define, implement, and maintain best－of－class localization processes, including project management, budget and forecast management, linguistic quality, and glossary
